Johnston Canyon trail is not open because of trail repairs but access to the inkpots is available through Moose meadows. Nearby Marble Canyon and Silverton Falls are fully open and are family friendly short hikes.

Johnston Canyon Resort is situated just off the scenic Bow Valley Parkway at the base of one of the top attractions in Banff National Park. It is only a short 25-minute scenic drive from the towns of Banff or Lake Louise, Alberta. When you walk outside your private cabin you will feel invigorated by the fresh air and soothing sounds of nature. Everywhere you look from your drive along the Parkway until your destination at Johnston Canyon Resort you will be in awe with the scenery and opportunities to see wildlife and possibly even a bear!
Your quaint Banff cabin is just walking distance to the beginning of a spectacular trail with viewpoint catwalks that take you to 7 unique waterfalls, some that are 100 feet high. You will likely take the majority of your most scenic photos at our location. Pilot Mountain, a historic landmark for pioneering explorers in the late 1800’s, is highly visible making it a great photo opportunity from the trail and the Resort.
You don’t have to leave your Banff cabin if you don’t want to,as we provide all meals and snacks with your choice of our nostalgic coffee shop or our dining room.
