Johnston Canyon cabins is rich with history. Named after a gold prospector, it has been a popular Banff attraction for over 100 years.
It was Walter and Marguerite Camp in 1927 who helped transform the area into a world class attraction. After travelling the world and finding Johnston Canyon, Walter Camp was mesmerized by the 7 waterfalls, inkpots and majestic mountain setting. Walter and Marguerite decided to settle there, transforming a current building on the site into a log teahouse. They also took charge of the task of building a trail through the Canyon, funded by Banff National Parks.
Today Johnston Canyon is visited by thousands of people all over the world to walk the trail and stay at the Resort which is still owned by the Camp family.
